RO membrane locally?

Any of the local lfs sell RO membranes? I need to make water today and my RO/DI is running really sllooowww. I just changed my filters a couple weeks ago and it didn't make a difference so I'm thinking it's the membrane. Tia

The other thing that can slow production way down this time of year is cold feedwater. The colder the water, the slower the production. You'll also find that the colder the water, the more waste water you produce relative to purified water. For instance, Filmtec membranes are spec'ed at 77F and 50 PSI. If you give a Filmtec 75 gpd membrane 50 psi and 50F water, it will only produce 44 gallons per day.

One potential fix costs only $4 - when feedwater temperature head south, change out the flow restrictor to something that gives you close to a 4:1 ratio of waste water to purified water. This in turn will increase the pressure, and increase the speed of pure water production.

The other thing you can do to combat low temperatures is to increase the feedwater pressure with a booster pump.

It's generally not practical to combat cold feedwater by trying to heat it to something closer to 77F before it reaches the membrane.
