Sealing a hole in running sump

So I bought and covertted used sump and added refugium section.

How I find myself wanting to plug a hole under water in the running sump.

Is there a way to do this? Superglue on plastic sheet and put in place like gluing a frag?

Which way does the water flow? I think the easiest solution would be to use coral epoxy to throw a piece of acrylic over it and let it dry.
