skimmer needed?

I have a 28G nano cube with media basket containing floss, chemipure and nitrogen sponge. Will this be a overkill adding the skimmer? Just picked one up from Lil BamBam and just want to make sure before i put it on after all the reading about not needing it..

Thoughts please?

I was doing all that when I added my skimmer and it still made a huge improvement.

Its not necessary, but as stated by Herbie, helps. I have a tunze 9002 on my 29g BioCube and love it. Wiz.
