Skimmer recommendations!

Hey so the time is getting closer and closer to me getting my 90 gallon and I still don't know what skimmer to get. There are so many out there and so many variations in price. I could obviously go out and spend $700 and be fairly certain I'm gonna get a good one but I would like to have a good idea of what I want so that I can keep my eyes open for a deal on a used one.

I would ideally like to spend less that $200 on one! I may post up a WTB ad but for those you you reading this, if any of you are selling or know of a good skimmer for in sump use on a 90 gallon tank with a 40 breeder sump then please PM me with details and price.

Otherwise just advice in general on what to look for or which specific ones to try to score would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brad

I know many people don't have them, but i have the eshops psk-150 and love it. It pulls about 2 cups of coffee colored skimmate a week.

The bigger the skimmer the more nutrients it will pull from the water. So, if you are planning to have a heavy bioload I would invest more in a skimmer to help remove organic waste. If you plan on keeping SPS they typically fair better with better water chemistry (stable and free on 'trates, 'trites, and phosphate) Skimmers are one way to help reduce all of the above. You will need to decide what you plan on keeping and that should help you make a skimmer choice.

Ive been happy with reef octopus.
Having a gate valve to fine tune your equipment has been a great feature.
