Something eating my SPS

I've been noticing some of my SPS are dying slowly to what I thought was STN but I constantly monitor my parameters and all is well. Weekly water changes and dosing 2-part. Suspected I have some bug but couldn't visibly identify anything. Looked at my red planet tonight and noticed a pretty obvious "bite" mark.

Checkout the coral in the middle. Look at the die off on the frag disc.

I was examining it and noticed a snail like creature without a shell that looked to be the culprit. size of half a dime, oval in shape. pulled it out and dumped it. Basically, I don't know what to do now. Wait and watch stuff die slowly? I dipped everything in bayer before I added but started tank with live rock from LiveAquaria. Also noticed a similar "bite" mark on one of my monit's but that healed now.

What would you do?

Looks like AEFW, worst of all acro pests, I hope I am wrong. Take this frag and dip it in CoralRX or Revive and look if anything resembling flatworms fell off. Can't use Bayer because it is milky and you will not see anything. Google AEFW for more info. Good luck.

Im thinking nudies maybe to cause of size and how he said same on montie. Aefw leave smaller bite marks on bases and corals lose color before they actually stn and die. But u right aefw r pia to fight so lets hope its something else

FU*K ME!!! I googled AEFW and it totally looked like that. Like a BIG AEFW.

Thanks guys. Now I have to research what to do about this. Ideas?

Appreciate it.

I dealt with AEFW not too long ago, got infected piece of SPS from very reputable vendor here. Since I had mostly frags and no time to follow regular dipping procedure for all acros,I got rid of all SPS and went 2 months to make sure they die off and their offspring. If you don't want to go this route you must dip every SPS once a week for 6-8 weeks to kill all. This time gives time for eggs to hatch and kill the young ones before they have chance to lay eggs again. There are few threads on RC how to deal with them. Not something I want to see in my tank ever again.

Bayer dip ince week keep checking . Wrasses help and turkey baster with power heads off blaste corals and u cand suck it up with baster its really pia though

I still never seen oneleave that big of bite mark or stn a coral till the coral was totally infested. And u saw it in the coral with eyes not during a dip? Aefw r hard to aee even with magnifing glass . They pretty translucent and look like the color if the coral until they come off coral then they clearish brown color and turn whiteish when dipped. Id just want to be sure its aefw and not something else is all ive known people who thought stomata snails were aefw cause they same shape and look like they have no shell although they do

So I dipped 3 pieces today and saw couple of "things" which could be AEFW but not sure and really difficult to photograph. I'm planning on dipping as many SPS as I can at least once a week. Will post photos if I can see anything.

Ordering RPS All Out as well since that claims to kill eggs as well. Will keep y'all posted.

Thanks for all the help!

good luck definitly keep eye on ones u do find some on or suspect them being on specially the big ones as those produce the eggs if u google the eggs they r easier to spot since they usually in bigger groups and r brown in color ans usually around the bases. Its not a lost cause but sure is a pia to deal with
