Spotted Mandarin- Few white patches

I've had my spotted mandarin since Nov, 2008. It doesn't act any different, but I noticed months ago that my mandarin has developed some white patches near his head. I feed him frozen mysis and there are pods in the tank. Any ideas? Should I treat him in a separate tank or try adding garlic to its food? Currently I have the mandarin in a 30 gallon tank with an ocellaris clownfish that I've had 14+ years as the only other fish since a six line wrasse I had for years died last year. Before the wrasse and mandarin I kept CB seahorses in the aquarium. My fish aren't aggressive towards each other and a shrimp I use to have would constantly steal food from my clowns mouth!! The aquarium is about 15 years old. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to CR Josh. Is it any chance damaged skin from hitting rocks? Otherwise I'm not much help. Did a bit of google searching and there are several others with what looks similar but didn't see any confirmed postivie IDs.

Thanks for the welcome and looking. Yeah I'm not too sure. It's been a while and hasn't change in appearance since I noticed it. I was searching photos and reading articles as well.
