We created 5 reference charts for our most popular T5 fluorescent bulb brands to help you get an idea of how to mix-and-match them to achieve the right look and optimal growth in your reef tank.

If your light fixture has multiple plugs to simulate dawn/dusk, put actinics and blues all on one plug to create the best effect.

Great resource, thanks! Do you happen to have any kind of PAR comparison between the ATI Blue + and Geissman Actinic +? I know the ATI is stronger, but some research has shown that it is a negligible amount, and some has shown that it is significant.

SkullV - I did some additional research online after reading your post and still could not find any concrete or accurate par comparisons. This is most likely because of so many different variables affecting the readings.

Ultimately, both lamps work extremely well for growing corals and are probably the two most popular T5 lamps to date.

Thanks Robert! I am replacing one ATI actinic and one ATI Blue+ with two Geissman Actinic+ in my 4 bulb when the bulbs arrive, was hoping to get some solid info, but now it looks like I'll have to borrow a Par meter again and post up the results.

We would love to see what you come up with! Keep us posted.
