For the lights, 2 clip on fixtures from Home Depot, with LED lamps.
In the fuge section I have LR, chaeto, a power head and a sponge for pods. The flow thru the fuge is slow but the PH does keep things moving.
What are you using the sponge for??
I have a 10 gallon fuge with about 4 inches of sand, a nice sized ball of calupera, and as much live rubble as I can fit. I have mine set to a slow swamp like flow where water flows through at a slow rate, I use a off the home depot shelf bulb.
Also, I try to acquire the rubble from different sources, and I seeded it with 2000 pods from reefs2go
I transfer the sponge into my DT occasionally to get more pods to my mandarin.
Does it do a good job keeping your nitrates low? How big is the bulb and what color is it?
What kind of pods?
I have run this type of fuge on all 3 tanks I have owned, I also run a skimmer and carbon in a 2 little fishies 150 reactor. My nitrates measure 0ppm, and p02 is also in the lowest range of my test kit. I like to keep tangs who make a mess when they eat Nori, I feed 2 nori clips and 2 servings of food per day.
I don't remember the exact color of the bulb, I think it's in the 5k range, one of those 60W equivalent bulbs which I run 24/7. The pods were a variety, check their web page for more info.
Hope this helps.
What size and color are the LEDs?
