Wrasse QT

Picked up a Vroliks and a Red Line Wrasse last night from LA. I need to set up my QT tonight. I'm guessing my 10 gal QT is too small for both of these guys? Should I give them a sandbox, or would a bunch of pvc be ok?

I plan to run them through prazi and then copper.

Thoughts?

Jmo, but I would try without the sandbox first. If he appears to be overly stressed, then I'd try putting one in.

Id try with just pvc hideing only because it forces em to stay out better u chances of getting them eating plus id think the meds in qt would work better if fish isnt buried alive

Thanks guys. I'll go pvc only. Anyone have experience with Red Line Wrasses? Not as much info out there on them.

Will the 10 gallon be too small of a QT for both the Vroliks and Red Line (both halichoeres)?

ive had 3 redlines , a pair and a single recently(from la) . def a good picker once settled in . can get aggressive once larger towards future wrasse additions didnt have any issues getting them to eat and no issues with cuc ie shrimp,crabs,snails.....ect. good addition imo.

Thanks, this is what I was hoping to hear. They are sand sleepers too?

One last question.... These fish will arrive at my work this morning. Will they be ok in the box until later today, or should I catch a cab home right when they come in? I've actually never ordered a fish from the Internet before.

i would say as long as your work isnt as cold as it is outside and you leave the heatpack on the styro lid ypull be good to go.

Sooner the better .. but if its from DD they stayed in box couple times till evening when i ordered and were fine.

Red Line showed up DOA, but Live Aquaria refunded me no problem. On the positive side, I picked up a Cosmetus Wrasse at New Fish on the way home from work. Really nice looking fish that is known to hunt and eat aefw, which I'm obviously scared to death of. Both new wrasses are safely in QT.

So I have the Cosmetus and Vrolik's wrasses in QT. They are both eating and doing fine. However, the Vrolik's has tattered fins I'm worried about it. Is is just ammonia burn from shipping? Is it a disease? I've watched these two quite a bit. The cosmetus is not nipping and there is no aggression.

Take a look at the fins. What do you think? What should I do? I'm doing tank transfer method QT currently.

Id keep an eye on the fins and just make sure they dont get any worse. He was stressed to the max in the bag but should heal in the tank IMO
