Yogo's wife's jelly tank

So, starting soon, I'll be putting together a hex tank (thanks Jayjigga!) and converting it for jellyfish use.

I know the bulk of jellyfish tanks are perfectly round, but with a canister filter and some glass beads on the bottom, as well as some smoothed out siliconing on the edges, this has been done with some great success.

Color changing LEDs will be place on the bottom and back of the aquarium, with a remote control :) God bless ebay....

From what I've read, the intake should be covered with foam on the bottom of the tank, under the glass beads, and the output should be in the form of a spray bar, sweeping over the glass beads tilted slightly up to provide a small current for the jellies to stay afloat.

Anyone else have any input? Also, if anyone has a canister filter, LMK!

Wow this is going to be cool! I'll be following this as well! Jellies, cuttlefish, and octopus are my top three species tanks that I would like to tackle some day. Can't wait to see this as it progresses.

I'm pretty excited too. This will be a bit since we're out of town next week but hopefully this will be up in the next month or two. Well before my 110 goes up. Don't want the setups to overlap lol.

Jellyfishart.com and moonjellyfish.com both do as do some others. It'll be an online order. I might call RCA and see if he can get them too.

how big is the tank? almost all of the commercially available jellies get big (8" in diameter) which IMO is a bit small for something of 20g or less

Using foam in the bottom of a tank might be a pain if it breaks up a floats. I've seen it happen several times. If you can use silicone I think it would be better.
This sounds cool I want to see lots of pics.

Its a 40-ish gallon hex according to jayjigga. He's the one supplying the tank for me. plan is to get 3-4 smaller jellies from jellyfishart.com. With a lifespan of 8-ish months, these things don't get too big. They also claim you can have clownfish in there with them, which seems weird...

foam as in a sponge pad, not styrofoam or anything like that.

Ohh, I think I may have some other tankmates in there... Looks like a CUC and clowns/gobies are safe with moon jellies.

Since clowns would get gobbled up in my 110, this may be a great alternative!
