Need some help lowering Alk

Hello I am having some issues with getting my Alk down. I did perform a 20g wc last weekend on a 75g. With my other reading being ok i dont want to add something then throw everything off. any info would be great.

PH 8.2
Cal 420
Mag- getting test kit today
Dkh 15.3
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
Ammonia 0
Phos 0 doubting that though. I do have some algae growth
 
What test kit are you using? Are you dosing something to raise it that high? If you are not dosing I would have someone else test it before you make changes
 
If you have not already test again to double check then do so now. If test is still high, Stop dosing till you get it in line. Don't lower the ALK to fast. A 15-20% change and the tank using it should cause it to drop. In a few days if it is still high repeat above.

Awesome thank you, I will give that a go, much appreciated.
 
If it's really that high, not much you can do but water changes. Make sure mag is normal or you will have weird cal/alk levels. If corals look fine, there is no need to panic. If corals look stressed, then do a big water change.
