On my display tank I still use MH but Im looking for LEDs light for my 20 L QT for corals. Can you guys recommend some low budget LED light. I know really good brand is like 400$ but even on this forum on Group Buy some of you bought cheaper ones. How they work, any suggestions? Thanks.

For a 20 L QT I would use a PAR38 bulb. Rapidled has some good ones and so doed CC. Buy a clamp from Homedepot for cheap instead of the goosenecks being sold as both of mine broke.

I have a coral compulsion 120 p for sale. The light is programmable. I think cc sells them for 350. My light was bought in November and I think I have it listed at 225

You thnk it will support SPS for few weeks?

For sure. The PAR38 bulbs are great LED lights. Some people just have multiple bulbs over their display tank. Even if you wanted to buy two you are still under what any other LED lighting will cost you, but I think one should be plenty.

Not to high jack this thread, but I'm looking for cheap and simple for a 40B frag tank. Jon, do you think three PAR 38 would do the trick?

I think 2 would be enough, but that partially depends on the corals you want to keep and how high you place the light. I think you could squeeze by with just one if you have some lower light corals on the edge, but if you had two I think you could do SPS in the whole tank.

I just took a look at RL and CC and agree a 40B really wouldn't need more than two...could be an interesting adventure.

So is the one from RapidLed. 12 LED Par 38 < Mixed color with uv> the one you talking about?

Depends on the temp of the color you want. If you want daylight vs actinic. That is one of the ones I was talking about though.

Thanks. I think this is good option. Even though it is 80$ for just a bulb it is cheapest option. And it is only QT. Thanks Jon!!!
