My Cleaner Shrimp is an A**hole.

Every feeding day. Every single damn feeding day I battle my cleaner shrimp to target feed my coral and nems. I try to give it a bigger piece of food of the other side of the tank but it either just tosses it away or somehow eats a big piece of food in a couple seconds. I try to swap it away from what I am feed but this guy is fearless, he doesn't give a sh*t about my poking him with my poker rod. He just swoops in and rips a big piece of shrimp out of my RBTAs' mouths.

Sorry for the emotional tone to this post but I am beyond frustrated with this little bastard. Any tips on how to go about target feeding stuff with this menace in the tank?:mad5:
 
WOW never seen/heard them doing that , I usually feed the cleaners first and they disappear in the rocks and leave everything else alone .

Mine do the same, fighting them everytime I target feed lps. Gotten to the point I truly don't care if I hurt them with the poker stick and that seems to help a little. Good luck.

You are pretty lucky then, mine is pretty aggressive. Same with my pistol shrimp, that guy isn't as aggressive though.

I feel you, I am at that point now. My RBTAs always look hungry and I assume it's because my shrimp are stealing all of their food!
 
Yep mine did that every dam time greedy bastards. I should say only time they didnt was when i had a fish that bothered the shrimp and made the shrimp hide all the time then he just grab and run like tang police said . Once that fish was gone and he felt safe again he stole all the food

That's the reason I didn't get shrimp this time .. Almost all kinds of shrimp do that :)
