Black Reef Rock!

Hey all,

Checkout this prototype of some black reef rock from West Mariculture. I LOVE the look and the idea. Imagine how the corals would pop against this and the coraline growth. Any thoughts?

Personally I don't think I would like it. Like black sand it would look dirty fast, and while coral/coralline would pop against the black color so would nuisance algae. Some people do love black sand though, so it is definitely a personal preference.

Agreed. I think when it first goes in the tank it would look great, but that would quickly change

Good point on it getting dirty fast. Still, cool idea. Quick...someone try it in their reef and let me know how it looks in 6month. hahahaha. Seriously though, I'm more concerned with the fact that I don't know exactly what's in this rock mixture and how it's made black. When I asked developer, he said it's a trade secret or something along those lines.

If I would select LR for the 1st time it would't be black. Back in the days when Tongan rock were plenty full and available I still say this date still the best rock of all times.
 
not to mention it be all purple in few months any way so they probably charging extra for it being black and it doesn't really matter after few months . you can buy a rock of every color under the rainbow and if u tank is running good it will all be same color . PURPLE LOL
 
Wow. Y'all been drinking a lot of Haterade (a figurative drink representing a modality of thought. those who consume it are themselves consumed by the negativity which with they speak. ) hahaha. I like black cars, painted back glass panel black on tank black and damn it I like black LR :)
