Skimmer freaking out

Dosed chemiclean on Sunday did 10% water change on Tuesday 10% Wednesday and 10% Today. The skimmer is still freaking out. I've got it opened all the way up but its still filling the cup. What should I do?

If it has a drain in the collection cup, open it, attach drain tube and drain into a big bucket. Open up the air intake all the way, to keep water loss down. Basically you are sucking out whatever chemiclean is left and draining into bucket instead of back in your tank. Just keep replacing whatever water is lost with fresh saltwater. Doing it this way will save you a lot of water compared to doing a bunch of water change. Also, run some activated carbon to absorb chemiclean.

I think it's supposed to be a 20% WC right after treatment so I'm guessing you still have some of the chemiclean/cyano residue in the tank. Maybe just one 20% WC now and run carbon as suggested. Good luck.

I think i drained about 3 gallons out before my skimmer calmed down when I dosed chemiclean, but its still less than water change :)

Yeah mine calmed down at about 3.5 gallons. And now I have to run to petland since I broke my ato tank

Drying it out after my hose back siphoned and filled with salt water. Just put too much pressure on the top. It was sitting just like it is in the pic

I'm a fan of using glass for display tank. But anything in my cabinet is acrylic coz I just putz around too much down there and always risky breaking things.

Same thing happened to me with chemiclean! Keep changing carbon and keep the skimmer running. It took about a week and a half for it to calm down
