Rainfordia opercularis Basslet @ Reefwise

We were lucky enough to get a true Rainfordia opercularis pair earlier in the week. They were collected out of the same crevice in eastern Australia.

These guys are sometimes referred to as the "flat head perch basslet" for good reason. The pictures really don't even show how wide their heads are.

We have been really enjoying them at the store! We love how they greet us at the glass like puppy dogs. It is also fun to watch them eat with their big heads with small mouths.

The pair is already sold but we will be housing them at the store for about a month if anyone wants to stop in to see them in person before we ship them out.

They are extremely expensive. There are not that many in the US.

I wish, whatever the price was , I am sure my wallet couldn't handle it. Someone really lucked out, hopefully has a the right system to keep them alive and thriving.
