4 -5 AI Prime HDs vs 2 Radion XR30W G4

Hey All, planning on picking up a Red Sea Reefer 350 from a member here in a week or two. Looking into lighting options. Was set on two Radions (already in my cart on BRS) but then I saw the AI Prime HDs. I can get 5 with mounting arms for the price of the Ecotechs with mounting. Planning on a mainly SPS/Clam tank and was wondering what everyones opinions are. I have an MP10wes and MP40WES so I was planning on controlling the Radions and pumps with an WXM, I hear the AIs are only controlled by wifi. Lastly, if I could get only 4 AIs I would save a decent chunk of $. Any input is greatly appreciated.
 
go with the 2 Radion XR30W G4. If you have time to wait Black Friday is coming and the Ecotech should be on sale for at least a few days. or, I am not sure if you can, try to buy when they have bonus reward points. You can get more gear that way.:colorful-banana-sm:
 
3 of 4 for Radions. Done deal. Side question, how much savings will I get from BRS on Black Friday Sale? I have $2,250 in the cart right now including apex/radions/mounting arms/WXM and I might be adding in 3 BRS dosing pumps......

Go with Calcium Reactor if you can, controls by your APEX.
 
[MENTION=454]maidia[/MENTION] - I would love to but thats a little out of my wheel house at this point. My last setup was very basic and this one is already becoming very expensive for me.
[MENTION=3688]Illinijoe[/MENTION] - I did look at that but with 3 pucks vs 4 on the xr30s I was leaning towards the 30s. The reason I was looking at the Prime HDs was because I could get 4 or 5 for the same price.

That size tank (91 gallons) the 2 radions would be great. You will have a much cleaner install with the 2 Radions. You can call ecotech if you want to ask them questions if you doubt it will be enough.

its only 73 display. 4 ft tank.

the nice thing about 2 xr 30s is you won't need to mess with the overflow cover.

with 3 xr 15s i had to make a cut out on the cover to fit the mount.

i think you'll want 3 xr 15s or 2 xr 30s it will be a cleaner look and if you want to do a clear view mesh top later you wont have as many cutouts.
 
Ya def know the two xr30s would be no issue, was just checking to see thoughts on the AI Primes with more spread since I could spread them out more and have less shadowing.

Thanks for all the input guys..... going for the two radions for sure.

The thing i like most of the primes is thats you can control them with your phone link as many as you want and no extra equipment and you can aim/point them ware you want them to i think there sweet
