How's it going guys!!! I just got this skimmer set up the other say and I am fighting it like crazy keeps over flowing. They say it needs to be in 6-8inches of water o have it set a 7inches I know it's new and all but I should be able to not come home everyday with a full cup of water/overflowing any ideas what I can do to fix it?

let it run at the widest open setting for a couple of days .. like on the dail where you choose the air intake choose the lowest setting ..

you wont get the water level inside the skimmer high up and it wont over flow that way .. then after a couple days increase it just a bit by bit every day till you get the skimmer action you need ..

makes sense ? :dontknow:

this ... set it at min or 1 and then go like 0.5 increase after a cpl days

It makes sense, but I weather it's wide open or shut I still get the same stuff happening. Might call the manufacturer tonight when I get off for technical support of I have time b4 they close

alternatively you could do is just open the drain tube in the collection cup and let it go back into the sump ..this is a normal problem for new skimmers and would settle down in a few days :)

I had the same problem a few months ago and I raised it up in my sump to about 5" submerged and opened it all the way and let it run for about a week then slowly turned the dial up. After about a month I lowered it back down to about 7" and it runs fine now. I ended up adding a float to my collection cup because I noticed that every once in a while I would come home and for no reason it would be overflowing like crazy, I would turn it down and readjust and it would be fine for a few weeks. So now I have it programmed to turn off if the float gets too high that way it doesn't pump all that Skim back into the water.

That's exactly what I am doing lol...
