I recently traveled to California for 10 days on my honeymoon. On our second half of the trip, we spent a lot of time hiking and visiting the great outdoors.

We spotted a gray whale off the coast at Patrick’s Point

Some of the redwood trees are as old as 1,500 years. These trees were approximately 14 feet in diameter.

did you go to Fritzgerald Marine Reserve? I jut got back from there. It's like 30 mins from San Francisco. During low tide, you can see anemones, snails, crabs, small fish, startfish, urchins, macroalgae, and more.

We did not visit Fritzgerald Marine Reserve. We did visit Patrick’s Point State Park during low tide and saw those same green anemones, snails, crabs, starfish and A LOT of mussels.

I thought it was crazy that the anemones could live outside of the water during low tide. They are adapted to living inside and outside of water.
