    This particular piece came to me bleached. in the span of a few weeks It went from white during the day to a cool green with red polyps. Still looking forward to seeing it grow and color up more.

    I think for mp40s you have issues if it's too thin. That's why you can adjust the thickness of the glass with the rubber border. I think they come with spacers as well, and the thickest one let's you run it on glass less than 1/4"

    Those are amphibious. I think tisbes are best. But it's good to have a diversity of both. I'm not sure if amphipods get too big for mandarins or not

    So all the dead non removed matter on the rocks coul cause the imbalances. Whether it's the source of the specific algae issues you has, I'm not sure. But it does cause some issues. I just diluted and drained the muriatic acid in a corner of the yard.

    This is true, they make chlorine gas which can be fatal. Thats why you always let the rocks sit outside after a bleach soak anyways, to let the chlorine evaporate from it.

    Make sure that if you do use acid, you wear proper protection including safety glasses, a mask, and rubber gloves. And that you add the acid to the water, not the other way around.
