I’d say enough top off water for a week is pretty good. My ATO tank is 20 gallons and it’s only good for a week. When I leave town for extended periods, I put a 45 gal brut next to my tank and pump from that into my ATO tank. It’s a Manual Top Off for my Automatic Top Off.

But more importantly to me, any tips or secrets to get them to NOT split!!??? I one that turned into four, gave away three, then turned into two, then three, and now I’m giving away another. I’d give away another if it were easier to get them off my rocks.

That’s the exact problem I had until I got a peristaltic. Then....problem solved. I have mine set up to pull water through rather than push. My reactor is super stable now. I haven’t adjusted a thing in well over a month and my alk has been right around 8.0. It’s truly set it and forget it...

From the way I understand it, when you do them individually, you can figure out which one is getting burnt up fastest and just replace that one more often. Then you’re not throwing away the unspent other one.

The carbon block and pre filter for my drinking water RO system are opaque, so I’m sure you can find them.

Mine is mostly green when not totally happy but the orange tips come out when life is good.
