220rr build

Just ordered a Marineland 220rr w/stand. 72"x24"x30". Should be picking it up this week and hopefully starting setup same day or this weekend. Depending if I go to a RC Swap/fly-in.

I purchased a 100 gallon stock tank used on CL. Its been washed out, cleaned and sitting in the cellar/crawl space waiting to be plumbed and have the return pump installed. I still have to move my 55dt, 40breeder dt and a 40 breeder sump from my old place in Sycamore. Trying to sell my breeding pair of Goldstripe Maroon Clownfish and Black Misbar clowns to help fund some of the move/install.

I have a blue hippo, yellow tang, scooter blenny, sleeper blue dot goby, starry blenny, 3 pajama cardinals, 2 onyx clowns, 2 red cleaner skunk shrimp, 1 coral banded shrimp(in sump), 1 rbta, some corals and 1 green brittle star to move.

I'll add some pics later tonight. Time to move some more stuff after working all night long. UGHH!!!

Transferred my 55 contents to my 100gal stock tank today. Blue hippo, yellow tang and scooter blenny are at the new place, along with my rbta and leather coral. I have a canister filter running on it along with a heater to bring it up to temp. Setup my Par38 and 48" LED strip with dimmer switches for blue and white channels. I bought from ReefPlus. Going to mix more water tomorrow morning. Was told that my tank should be here tomorrow. SCORE!!

Next to empty and move out is the 40breeder; 3 pajama cardinals, 1 sleeper blue dot goby, 1 starry blenny, 2 onxy clowns, LR and sand. I transferred everything in a 44 rubbermaid garbage can about 3/4 of the way full strapped to my old snowmobile trailer.

I'll post some pics later on, wicked exhausted and 3 hours of sleep before work tonight.

Here's one photo from Sunday afternoon, just after picking the 100g sump. My fiance's brother thought it was a redneck hot tub. Whats funny is I saw one on CL for sale that was used for a hot tub.... lmao!
Had about 2 hours of sleep that day. Been moving stuff all week.

Got the tank and stand back to the new house ok. Tomorrow will be spent leveling the stand and tank. Scored some a good amount of dry rock and crushed coral for the sump from Goat585 today. Will also clean those pieces off and start curing them in my old 55 after I get it here. Also picked up 70lbs of sand. Here's some pics.

My fiance, Kathy and the tank. She helped guide me into the garage with all the stuff around. Got it on the first try.

Cool, I just unloaded my tank on the garage floor. Going to make another trip to my old place to break down my 40DT and 40 sump. Also finish cleaning up the 55 and put those on the trailer along with the fish and critters into the 44g rubbermaid garbage can. Think I'll take a nap and TGIF to me!

Got the 55 and 40 DT's with stands. Been awake since wed 3pm and worked overnight. No nap today, went to lunch and then saw Godzilla and the new Xmen movie. Starting to feel tired. Have all my fish at my new place.

Thought my Duncan got nailed with the hair alge. Turned out it was hiding inside the body, came out last night. Super stoked! Also the octopus frogspawn opened up right away after I put it in the stock tank. My onyx clowns also took to the rbta right away! Looks like Saturday or Sunday for the 220 to go up on the first floor. It will be on a foundation wall and about 10ft or less across from it is another foundation wall. Would the floor joists need floor jacks under the tank or would it be ok without? I've priced them out at the hardware store.

Purchased 2 heads of purple/green hammer today from Fish Planet. Looking for an Australian hammer orange frag. They had one with a bunch of heads for $100+.

Ran into Smith11 at Fish Planet talked to him about tanks and stuff there. Nice guy!

Brought in the 220 stand earlier today by myself. That was easy with a dolly. My cat, Gonzo was wondering where the tank and fish were at. In my old place in front of the 55 was a bench with his food bowl on top of it. He would eat and watch the fish swim by and all the other critters. Glad he was smart enough not to jump on top of the tank!

Onyx Clowns took over my RBTA, since the one black misbar ocellaris clown that lived in it is gone. Surprised to see them in it after I just put them in the sump the other day.

The Vent to the right of the tank, I'm thinking of running my overflows and returns through to the sump. Probably cap off the vent. I was also thinking I could get another vent, cut holes in it or in half. To make the vent still functional.

On the overflows its rated for 700GPH, I have a 500GPH Sicce pump. That would be too small for the return in the basement. The basement height to the first floor board is about 6ft and another 30in to the bulkhead on the right and about 6ft to the left bulkhead. Can someone give me a recommendation on what I pump I could use please?

Added 88 gallons of saltwater today and 70lbs of sand. Cleaning used live rock later this week and should have some sort of aquascape going by the end of the weekend. Maybe some plumbing and a new return pump. Still looking for recommendations on the return pump!
