Havent been on here in what feels like forever. So finally getting around to setting up the 60g rimless cube I picked up last winter. Just need to finish up a little more on my stand and put some baffles in the the sump/fuge. I ended up going with making a stand so i could fit the 27g 20x18 tank under it that i had sitting empty. I am going to transfer most of the stuff from my 24g cardiff and also have 29gallon that is full of liverock that has been running since last December that im going to use the rock for the 60. Everything in my 24 is still growing well and had to take down the the 16g nuvo and reseal the false wall because the silicon was starting to come off the false wall. So here is some pictures of the progress so far. Also for lighting im thinking about using one of the Euphotica 16" 55x3watt led lights that i have along with 4 or more 24" t5s.

went with 1/2inch oak plywood and am using an ebony stain. still need to finish the plywood before i start putting it on.

the design i did on google sketchup for the stand. the sump in this was when i was brainstorming on how to have the layout. the skimmer was just one that i downloaded off the database but everything i did myself

I like new setup so far, not to mention your current tanks look really nice. Thanks for the pics.

Looks very well thought out, and you've got some pretty cool stuff going on in the cardiff. Can't wait to see how you progress along with this tank.

thank you everyone. last friday went to glass place out in mokena and put in order for the pieces i need in 1/4" glass so still waiting on the baffles. Got all the pieces i need for the plumbing. finally set up a BRS 150gpd 6stage ro/di with booster pump. Picked up 2 new frags over the weekend and put up another frag rack in the cardiff. So once i get the glass i will make the sump and then wont be long till it is up and running

Almost ready to fill it up and transfer all the liverock and sand.
I was also wondering if people put any type of thin foam between the tank and stand and if so what do you guys recommend using?

all that's left is to plumb everything and then transfer all the liverock and sand from the 29g.

That's an awesome setup! I love the neat/organized sump! And as for putting something between the tank and stand, I just have mine sitting right on the stand, you should be fine with no barrier

Thank you. I ended up removing the baffles that are suppose to be between the fuge section and the return pump because I put them to far up. So once i get a chance to re silicon those in I should be really close to setting it up.

Small update: I finally decided on how I'm going to do the return. I had a brand new aquatop 977gph pump sitting around that I bought for a tank I was going to set up before I got the 60 cube and after doing so searching and see that people are using a lot weaker pumps I decided to go with a manifold style return so I can run uv sterilizer and reactor off the return. So far everything is just dry fitted.

Been awhile since I posted an update. Been up and running for about 8 months now. Here are bunch of pics

Used a tv mount to mount the light over the tank

After getting the aquascape to my liking and everything transferred in
