Acropora vs. Montipora

When i transferred from my 65 to my 75, I had a monti that encrusted over several rocks. Needless to say, i couldn't aquascape exactly the same as my 65 so those 3-4 rocks with small encrustings are now large encrustings on different areas of the reef and have began to get close to other corals (mili, acros, etc.) Is my monti going to take/grow over the others or should it be fine? Anything i can do to prevent the monti from taking over(Fragging isn't really an option considering it has plated)

Depends on monti. I lnow people who have encrusting monti grow around acro base, but not on the acro.

if the monti grows over any light loving coral it will eventually shade it out

Good to know. I'm slowly collecting acro colonies to add on top of the monti. Might need to do some rearranging soon.
