My son would like to have a small tank in his bedroom. He is 8 years old. I bought 6 months ago 3 Designer Clownfishes. The smaller one was being bullied by others so I moved her to my Frag Tank. I really like her and want to keep her. I really like that Tank. I think it would be perfect, small, nice neat design. Do you think I could keep that small Clown and small Anemone in that Tank and mostly important would that Light support that Anemone? It is 18 w led. I hope that link will work for you to see specs. Let me know, please. I have been reefing for 15 years but always had a big tanks.I know some my say it is too small but I saw a lot of small set ups like that. Thanks for future advices. Happy Reefing.

Hi Arthur. The link doesn't work but I'm guessing it's an AIO/nano tank that you're researching? I think you can have a clown and an anemone in a nano but IDK if an 18W LED would be enough for the anemone. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

If I were to do something like that I wold probably go with a 10G (sale at Pet Supplies Plus right now) and a HOB power filter (AquaClear) for flow and filtration. An additional small power head for dead spots too. For lighting maybe a Par38 LED bulb.

I'm not sure if you saw couple pic's I added later. I like that sleek look of that Tank. But if it won't work then I'll do it other ( right) way. Thanks for advice.

I don't think you'd have any problems keeping a single clown and an anemone in that tank. I can't comment on the lighting as I've never used it before. You could always go with a Kessil 150 or I've used par38 bulbs over smaller tanks and kept everything from Zoas to SPS/clams. The par38s have gotten pretty cheap on eBay now.

If its stock lights, lights that come right out of the box, then no, it will not be enough for the anemone. Go over to the north/clybourn petco in chicago to see how pathetic anemones look when they do not have sufficient lighting. As for keeping a clown and an anemone in the tank, yes it should work, clowns don't need much space.

the IM 10 is a great little nano tank. You should get it WITHOUT the light and get AI Prime, Kessil A160, Kessil A80 (newly released), or Par38.

these tanks are awesome I recommend them with either an AI Prime or a Kessel but the light that it comes with is no good if you're planning on keeping corals or enemones

Arthur Coralife has a new Biocube led out that would be ideal for your son

Thank's guys for all help. Really appreciate it. Those biocubes look nice too. I'll have to do more resarch. Or maybe I can get that Tank I mention in this thread cheaper without light and then buy good light separate.
