Hi - Are there any heating /cooling guys on here? My gas furnace has been driving me nuts lately! I programmed my thermostat (new replaced) but my furnace isn't keep the heat. It's programmeed to be 70 am / 66 day / 70 evening / 66 night. It will heat up to the set temp then drop down to 60 when it's supposed to be say 70 degrees. The furnance still work since it does heat up but hold the temp or heat up when it's supposed to. My old thermostat was doing this as well so I replaced it and it's doing it again.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Brett

Few things I got from googling, hope it helps. There are also some youtube video checks and how to fix if it matches your problem.

-if it's a new furnace it should have an indicator light on the mother board that will give you the fault code. check your owners manual for the codes.
-Check the drain line if your furnace is a condensating furnace if drain is clogged it will hit a sensor and wont let furnace run.
-check blower moter that it is running the whole time the furnace is on. If your blower motor shuts off early your furnace will shut off as a safety.
-If you have a circulation pump, check that too. If that is out it could be telling the furnace it's too hot and shuts off.

Thanks Eric! I'll have to dig into it some more tonight. I did notice the indicator light flashing last night so I'll start there. Darn thing is totally frustrating me. We got home yesterday from work it was 60 in the house when it should have been 70. Then we got home from my bday dinner and the house heated up to 70. Grrr..
