anyone here good at growing rotifers ??

didnt know where to put this so i figure its coral food so why not here

I cant seem to keep my culture going
I use 5 gallon bucket
have tried salinity between .021 and .025
Heater set at 78
good air bubbles
Nice green water
Change water and swap buckets to clean detritus every week

But they always seem to fail

If i scoop out some water and hold a flashlight to it there are still a few in there but just seems like their no multiplying

what am i doing wrong??

I have three cultures going in 5 gallon buckets. To me it looks like your problem is the air bubbles. I use a rigid airline with on 1-2 bubbles coming up a second. It is just enough to ripple the surface. High airflow always crashes my cultures. I have had a culture where the airline fell out and it did fine for a few days before I even noticed it.

Do u only feed phyto?

I feed rotigrow plus twice daily. Once in the morning and once I night. If you need more rotifers I am happy to give you some. I dont use any live phyto.

Thanks for the idea with the air
I turned it down and within 24 hours my green water cleared up
They multiplied like crazy already
I put some in a cup and checked with a lite and a whole bunch in there now not just a few

thats good to hear

Typically I harvest some every three days or so. If yours are multiplying real quick then you may need to harvest some daily
