so I bought the newest apex. what a hunk of junk. you have to have your specific settings for your modem to make this think work.

the customer service is horrible. yeah they answer the phone but then tell you to look on the forums and if that doesn't work to submit a ticket for help online and they reply with same stuff I already know. then they send this after I complained.

it's a nightmare and still after Spending a fortune on a apex and new ipad I haven't even been able to hook it up.

you have to log into your router and play with all the settings. my fridge printer and tv all connect to my modem/router easier. I wouldn't recommend this product to my worst enemy . you have to be a network specialist.

I have never setup an Apex, but you might be over exaggerating a bit on this post. All they are asking you to do is verify two settings, not all the settings in your router.

1. Verify your router has a 802.11b, g or n (2.4Ghz only) band activated.
2. Verify your security method is WPA2-Personal.

Now, what are your settings?

I get you. I do. it seems easy. but when you spend the type of money to get one of these it is disappointing that you have to jump through hoops like so.

their is no instructions on this for setup. they give you a link to a guide online. I had to get in contact with them. the first time they sent me a start up guide that was same as the website. which lead me to believe they didn't even read my first ticket on having issues setting up cause I explained I went though those steps already.

it was a lot of going back and forth with them to get those intructions finally which i dont know if it will work yet. i belive its a huge flaw in their part, this type of thing should be as simple as setting up wifi for a tv, tablet, a fridge, any game system, blue ray player, ect.

I installed my 2016 Apex last year and had it setup in minutes using the online get started guide. I would think the guide works for most people, but they can't plan for every possible network configuration other than to tell you what they support. I get the frustration though, no one wants to spend that much and not have it just work. I have dealt with their support over email twice and they have been really good. Their support manager was emailing me to help on a holiday weekend in the middle of the night. It can be a pain that they do mostly email support and then will schedule a time with you if that doesn't fix it, but hopefully they will get you up and running quickly. Once it is running, it is pretty nice to have.

I hope so. I just think they should have a better wireless card. going to give it another Go today. but on their forums I've read lot of simular stories and some people still after few months never got it to work . i think worst case would be new modem but mine is pretty up to date .

I've been an Apex user for 5+ years now. I've always had good, fair experiences with them. The networking they are asking for isn't anything more complicated than a couple of seconds to check. Wifi can be an interesting beast no matter the product. I always choose to go hardwire with any of my networking gear unless its not feasible. A) its more reliable B) you'll have less equipment taxing the bandwidth of your wifi saving more room for your other devices that cant be wired.

Learning any new product is gonna have its learning curve. Where are you located? I'm in lake view and happy to help when I have free time if you're not to far.
