Aqueon Evolve?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Aqueon Evolve's? I read online that the leds could support some softies and some lps? Reviews seem to be mixed. Thanks everyone.

You're better of with real LED systems or PAR38s. They are just 1-watt cheapo lights not built for corals, but for freshwater simple systems. Remember that price point for LEDs speaks volumes.

man I just set up the 8 gallon yesterday. I was reading and the creaters say the bulb gives off 25 par but they didnt say where in the tank. I already upgraded the pump but Im now looking for a new light because 25 wont cut it. yogo you dont think the par 38 will be to much light? im really looking for a nice light for it.

Par38 bulb will be just fine in an 8 gallon.. Had one in my 8 gallon nuvo and it worked to perfection.. Check out coralcompulsion.com. They sell the bulbs and lamp clamp..

Looks nice. I was thinking of pickin up a nuvo 8 or the evolve 8. For the price, the evolve is more appealing to me. How well is it made Catalano?

Par38 bulbs tend to run hot. That is not a good thing for LEDs.

For me i have not seen any issues with the heating on PAR 38 bulbs and its leds.. I run my lights for 11 hours a day and i have used several brands and no issue what so ever..

hey sorry it took so long. over all I would give it a 6/10. ive had 2 nano cubes and I liked them alot so im comparing it to that. The over all tank is cheaply made. the lid was warped out of the box in the front right corner but i prefer it off. the back over flow wall looks like a very shitty plastic. the tank it self does look nice for a little tank that im not going to get to crazy with. so it was worth the cash for me. but for 100 u can find a 12 gal nano used for around that. also from the start with this tank you need to upgrade the light and pump and with a nano/bio u dont for softies. I did get my tank half off the other day and thats the only reason I own this brand. I am having fun with this little tank though
