Auto topoff for Biocube 29

I like the new smart ATO. It looks sleek and the reviews i have seen are favorable. Going to pick it up soon with an ATO reservoir to sit in my cabinet.

I have the smart ato and like it. Super small and has some nice warning features.

I'm very happy with my hydor smart level and also my RKL-SL1. I use an aqua lifter with the smart level and a BRS ATO pump with the RKL. Will be switching to the new avast marine diaphragm pump over the BRS soon though just due to noise.

I am also looking at autotopoff.com. The products looks good and reasonably price. I'm looking for a cheap solution.

I have their set ups in my tanks. I like the price and the simplicity.

Victor,

Which product did you buy from autotopoff.com and how did you use for the pump?

The Tunze Osmolator Nano is also a good solution that comes with pump but it's like $100.

I use their nano single switch one on my 12g cube. It's paired with a Mag3 bc the reservoir is on the floor and the stand is extras high.
On my other tanks I use the two switch sump-mounted ones. Those are connected to MaxiJet power heads.

I have used autotopoff.com for over 5 years no issues just make sure to make a snail guard out of pvc. This unit will be big though. The smart auto is way smaller.

This should be a good fit if your looking to spend some money, I used this on a 2- 1/2G nano work out just fine and kept the salinity very stable. I think some others used this one also on here that had great results also. But it's up to you what you want to use. Some good reviews on it also

Thanks everyone. I think I will go with one of the following options.

1) JBJ ATO ($80) with Aqualifter pump ($15) + tubings
or
2) Tunze Nano Osmolator 3152 ($107)

Both seems like it will be a good fit for the 3 chamber in the Biocube. Thanks for the recommendations.

I just ordered the JBJ ATO and aqua lifter. I will install and update on how it goes.

Next project will be adding a refugium in chamber 2 of the biocube.

Make sure to open it and set the internal timer to a much smaller level since your tank is small. It'll prevent floods in the event that the float valves malfunction. JBJ definitely wouldn't have been my first choice in today's heavily tech saturated ATO market, but I did use one for 2 years without any issue. Should work well for you!

Any instructions or videos on how to set the internal timer? There are two sensors so hopefully they do not both fail at the same time.

I do recall a YouTube video, I'm on my phone now but I'll try to find it when I get to the office. If I remember correctly there are a couple different ways to set the float valves too. I used the one where it kept the level in between the two floats. Fitting both valves in a biocube/nanocube can be a PITA.
