Does anyone in this grup runs that overflow on his tank? I do and I have a question. Let me know, thanks.

I got one concern. For last couple weeks my water level in overflow box reached emergency drain. Can't drop lower as it should. All works still good but before I had that level lower. It should reach emergency drain only in emergency.... Do you have any idea, why? Too much flow is not an option that should handle much more water. I run DCT 8000 but only like 30%. I have 1" drain line and 1 1/4" open line. Maybe I got some air in lines? It is weird. Any idea? Here is few pic's so you know what Im talking about...

When I was setting up that tank I was using Reef Central thread as my guidance. I think I did all wright. I'm not an expert in this... And like I sad all still works great...

I have noticed this on a few tanks using jebao (and other cheaper DC pumps). The issue is that the pump slows down over time and does not provide enough flow anymore to clear the air in your siphon line. The secondary drain should also be set up as a "durso" style standpipe with the air hose somewhere between the height of your secondary and your emergency. This should create a siphon in the secondary before the water reaches the emergency. Again though, if your pump isn't flowing enough to clear the air in secondary it won't matter. Finally, your drain lines should be JUST below the water line in your sump. This will make it easier for the air to clear when the pump restarts. Clean your return first, see what happens.

Yes, drains are about 1" under water line. Secondary drain line is set as Durso. I'm dumb, air line was originally between drain and emergency line but I cut that air hose shorter because every time when I started pump after feeding few drops of water get there and it made gurgling noise. But back then water didn't get to emergency pipe level.

Two things that are going to help a great deal. First, deep clean the jebao pump. The motor blocks suck. They are cheap for a reason. I run one too, but they need to be cleaned every three months at a minimum to remain at "peak performance". Last time I cleaned mine it made such a huge difference that I got the same flow through my overflow at three settings below where I had it before.

Second, move that gate valve on your siphon line down closer to the water line. This is something that has been added to the standard "bean animal" over the years. The reason for this is to allow more water to "prime" the pipe and force the air out to start the siphon.

Thanks for all help. In my case reason was very simple. I couldn't still understand why...I kept looking, then I unscrewed cap on top of Main Drain and used hard wire to make sure nothing is stock there. Guess what? Two snail shells dropped to my sump. They got stock inside pipe. Now everything is back to normal :) Thank you, again
