Best and smallest (footprint) skimmer

Can I get your opinions on what would be the best and smallest (footprint) skimmer for a 50 gallon tank?

I'm using this lil' bad boy on my 45 and I am pretty happy with it (especially for the price)

It's a little touchy to tune it, but it skims like a beast.

Agree with herb. I have that skimmer on my 60g. 40b sump... works great and has quite a small footprint.

the sca is a good skimmer, another good small footprint is the eshopps.

Sorry for the new question but I've been messing with the coralife biocube skimmer for a couple days and the adjustable valve isn't working on it. My lfs told me to just run it wide open but that obviously isn't working so well. Do you know if the skimmer you posted will fit in a 29 gal biocube?

I would start a new thread in the future instead of hiijacking but to answer your question no, these are all in sump skimmers, unless you have drilled your BC for a sump, a in sump skimmer will not work.

I am using a CAD Pipeless skimmer and the footprint is really small compared to others. I am very satisfied with it so far.

The SCA skimmers are pretty awesome considering how well they skim and their price. I use the SCA 302 in my 30 gallon cube (45 gallons total volume) and I get a some awesome skimmate out of it. If I had to choose another though I would look at the RLSS 6i waveline or the aquamaxx cone s. Both of these skimmers have caught my eye for the small reef tanks.

I was thinking about doing the SCA 301 for 40 gallons (50 total). Are the RLSS 6i or the aquamaxx cone s better? If so, why?

I have the sca301 on my 40b and it is awesome. There is a easy to do mod that makes it even better.

I like the RLSS 6i because of the waveline pump and the aquamaxx come a because of the interesting bubble plate, but don't be scared about the price differences between these two and the SCA skimmers. If I were to ever change my SCA skimmer it would be simply to try something different and not because I was unhappy with it. I have owned two of these skimmers and have no regrets.
