Best Tang ???

If you're going to keep one Tang in 150 gal. for strictly purpose of maintenance ( eating algae, cleaning rocks ) which one is the best in your opinion ? Thanks.
 
Ive had a lot of differnt tangs although achillies was my favorite looking. Ive found purple tangs and powder blue tangs do best job at algae duty by far eating hair and bubble and lots of other algae. And beautiful to so thats a plus down side can be aggressive if not last fish in
 
I'm pretty sure that most tangs are nearly equal in their grazing habits. My maculiceps grazes all day long, picks the rocks apart, turns over frags that aren't mounted and defecates sand on a regular basis. I have zero algae growth in my tank.
 
Oh and from my experiance hippos and yellows are most useless in that department they get so use to feeding they tend to not graze as much but just my experiances
 
Not Yellow tangs, that's for sure. My baby desjardini ate all of the algae in my frag tank in a few days, and it was only an inch! My powder brown does an adequate job in the 90G, but if there's thick algae anywhere, he won't touch it.

Mine too but does eat all algae . Like i said in first post the tangs i had that ate the widest variety of algae was my purple and powder blue . The rest grazed on hair algae but leave bubble and other algae be. So i guess i will depend on what u looking for it to eat. I believe u ? Was which one is most effective algae grazers and to me that would be one that ate all kinds

Mine snatches hair algae off the corals and rocks and grazes on the regular green algae that grows in patches. I don't have bubble algae so I have no idea if he eats it. Why are you attacking me?!! :secruity:

What u talking about im not attacking u . U da man walt thats it no more coming in my house daisy can but u banned
