Blue Arathron Puffer?

It's best to avoid buying any dyed fish. What happens is people keep buying them, the pet shops keeping stocking them, the wholesalers keep ordering, etc...

By not buying them you help stop the cycle.

They dyed that thing really . Not that i supoort dyeing but dang they did a good job looks original lol. Shame on them i mean but least they picked cool color people di weird chit to fish

I have heard of people dying fish but never in the salt water community.

I thought it might have just been a rare one of freak of nature that someone was lucky enough to come by. I sure hope that is the case because if it is dyed shame on Old Town Aquarium for selling it.

so its not dyed maybe photoshoped alittle but not dyed huh

Yup that's my guess. Photoshopped or actually little increase in contrast.

Also isnt it like smaller fish are more colorful than their adult counterparts

Dunno Krishna, the video and the picture look really different to me. Maybe it's my monitor or something. I'd vote dyed :( But, I will hope that it's not, and that is just an intensely saturated image. Even though the rest of the image doesn't look *that* intensely saturated....

link isnt working

Link fixed: Masked Puffer

other link to a different species, but honestly I'd trust Jeni when it comes to well most things, but definitely trust her when it comes to puffers!!

Blackspotted Puffer link

Dyeing saltwater livestock is almost as old as the hobby itself. I can remember in the mid 70s, my dad got a bright red condy anemone for his old slate bottom salt tank. Lasted a week before it shriveled. He bought another that was just as colorful and it expired shortly after it got into the tank. He kept a plain white one before that for 2 years. Dyed nems are one thing, but a dyed puffer would be pretty **** sad.

But this is Old Town Aquarium we're talking about. They've been around for a long time and they don't need to sell something like that to make money. Years ago Old Town was the place to go in town for Show quality Butterflies. I can't see them accepting delivery on a mocked up fish.
