Planning is well underway for the Bloomington Normal Area Reef Club’s frag swap “FRAGTOBERFEST.” The BNARC event will be held on Saturday, September 10 , 2016 at the Bloomington, IL Interstate Center, 2301 W. Market Street, Bloomington, IL 61704. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with raffles starting at 1:30 p.m. General Admission is $5.00 per person Children 15 and under are FREE, Admission is free to BNARC members. Free copies of the “Marine Aquarist” newsletter will be available at the admissions table.
The dry goods vendor for our event will once again be Dirk. Our food vendor is Benny’s BBQ. They will be serving hardwood-smoked pulled pork sandwiches with their homemade sauce. The opportunity to browse the hundreds of items in “Dirk’s The Real Reefer’s Store” and enjoy a sandwich from Benny’s BBQ is well worth the price of admission.
This year 10 spots are available for hobbyists. Each spot is ½ of a 8-foot table. The cost is $10 for members, $20 for non-members (includes admission). It’s first come, first serve so contact us at. bnreef@outlook.com to arrange payment for your table. If you set up a tank you need to bring your own extension cord and power strip and limit your electrical usage to one heater, powerhead and light. Vendor tables are $75 for each 8-foot table. Vendors interested in attending Fragtoberfest or sponsors wishing to donate items please contact us at bnreef@outlook.com. Reservations will be accepted after payment is received. Set-up for vendors/hobbyists will begin Friday afternoon 9/9 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. and from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
The Grand Prize raffle item is a 50 gallon Starfire tank with a 16” Synergy Reef ghost overflow, custom stand, sump and AI SOL light. A sampling of raffle items includes two sets of two $100 weekend passes for the Aquatic Experience Chicago, BRS 4-stage RODI system, Probidio Biokit Reef Maintenance kits, Foster and Smith gift certificate, halide bulbs from AquaTech, and $250 of food from LRS Reef Frenzy.
