Two nights ago I discovered a bristle worm sticking its head out of my rock. It took me by surprise, since I've never seen one before. After doing a lot of reading and seeing that they are mostly good, I calmed down and decided to leave it alone. Yesterday I picked up a Crested Oyster Goby. I didn't do a quarantine on him because the nitrates in my quarantine tank were way too high and I didn't discover that until it was too late. I dipped the Goby and drip acclimated and placed him into my DT. He's doing very well, from what I can see. Very tiny, about an inch long. Tonight I found the bristle worm out on the sand, moving very slowly. I'm sure that my Clowns didn't attack him (I think). The Goby goes in and out of the rock and probably discovered the niche the bristle worm was hiding in. I thought at first that the Goby might be dead and spent a few hours watching for him. He finally popped out and started watching me from what seems to be his favorite perch outside of the cave that he goes to the most.
What are the chances that the Goby attacked this bristle worm? He's the only thing that's changed in my tank in the last few weeks, other than a few corals. That bristle worm would most likely have been in that rock since July. Probably more where that came from but it's the first I've seen. Any ideas if the Goby really would have attacked it??
