Broken Center Brace 55 Gallon

Well, I was in the process of cleaning out my 55 and broke the center brace with my elbow. Hopefully this is still able to be used, otherwise my cichlids on hold at the lfs will be a no go. Is this still useable? It is a clean break. Would super glue do the trick? Anyone have any insight I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Sandwich the broken brace between some plastic strips. Glue it that way. Just gluing together the crack, probably won't do much.

Maybe find a busted up 55 with a good top brace and transplant the frame onto your tank? Might be really cheap or free depending where you can find the donor tank.

I had plans on setting this up this weekend. Fish are on hold. This really blows. I think I will cut a piece of acrylic, drill through that and the center brace, and put a nylon nut and bolt on each end. What do you guys think?

Sounds like a good idea in a pinch. Whatever it takes to reinforce the center brace to prevent the glass from flexing.

Just glue the acrylic piece to the brace. Will be much stronger than screws.
