broken light

Hi. On my display tank for last 6 years I use Current Outer Orbit HQI/T5 combo. Im happy with that fixture or I was happy. Last year when I changed my MH bulbs one will not fire up right away. It takes few times to fire up < bzzzz sound> then it start up after few minutes. Now I changed bulbs again and that one don't fire up at all < no buzz sound too> Im not sure it is ballast or connection. Im not good with that staff too. Do you know where I can fix it or maybe you know somebody who can come and fix this for me? I will pay, no problem. First would be to establish if its the ballast or connection I guess. Please let me know. My corals are sad... Model number # 1070, # 1074

Are the ballasts external? If so simply switch them around and if the opposite one lights up then its your ballast.

I thought the Outer Orbit has the MH Ballast on the outside?

No, this fixture has 2 ballasts. One for each bulb. I can see them thru both end covers..

Yes.Thats exactly the light. 48". So ballasts are inside.
