brown hair algae! driving me nuts.

I just put in a new 20long frag tank(bare bottom) which is fed off the DT return about a month ago. I have no brown hair algae in the DT, but some growing in the Frag tank. When the frags start growing BHA , I just drop them in the DT where the crabs clean it all up in a few hours and their as good as new. However the egg crate(light diffuser), locline tubes, and the tank its self still has BHA growing.

Here's where I'm at:

-I have tons of flow (panworld 200 return pump)
-I have four loc-line returns in each corner on frag tank
-Jeabo wave maker to create even more circulation
-Lights on 8 cycle, but never completely dark....
-20 gal cube fuge. w/ cheato (the fuge also has some algae growing in it, but doesnt bother me and the pods seems to like it)
-Measured phosphates with a sailfert kit: it didn't detect any.. but I kinda figured that...
- GFO and Carbon reactors that feed into the return side of sump.
-long spined sea urchin in the frag tank that just cant keep up..

Where do I go next???

Try Nualgi it works.

Thanks. Do you use this just to treat the algae or is it continual use? Do you use just this product? I dose with the tropic marin balling method and aminos. If I used this product would I have to change what I dose currently?

I had a frag tank do this also, it did pass. I just used it like a fuge at the time and harvested a lot of algae out of it.

OK, I was kind of thinking that.. So is the frag tank going through a sort of "cycle" since the tank and everything else inside is brand new..?

i had this problem as well...i threw in a bunch of nerites and ceriths but they mainly only ate the non-hair type algaes...you need hermits in there...after introducing hermits i barely have an algae issue anymore except scraping the glass every few days like my DT...build a bridge for them to get back up to the rack if they fall through a hole or off the side...i just cut a few pieces of foam and i have one on the left and right side...they now travel back and forth from under the rack to the top...it's like they have their own 2-story condo
