the reason could be a number of reasons just moved it farther away from the light different flow and cleaned out the sump so water allot cleaner than ever.

Some crazy stuff
Looks like it split twice but not sure yet , two of them are close unless its just one big one. Also never fed any frozen food directly, my best guesses are either dimmer lighting conditions or stronger water flow made it split. Good time to split ,Cant wait till i can purchase some live rock and substrate for this 27 bta tank and some plumbing for the return pump. For now the tank has salt water mixing in it and about to add heater soon as this dam weather breaks for good , this way there is not a big shift in temperature in the tank. The fish room is not temp controlled and only have to monitor the tank heater between spring to summer in the fish cave.
Also added some old picks of the bta before it split.
