I always hear about not over tightening bulkheads...
How does everyone usually tighten their bulkheads? Just by hand?
I ask because one time I replaced the innards of my toilet. The directions said not to crank down too tightly on the gasket or you might crack the porcelain. No matter how much I tried, I couldn't get it tight enough to stop a slow week. I called a plumber thinking I had done something he wrong. He came, look at for about 30 seconds, and then cranked the hell out of the gasket using a wrench, and then charged me about $120.
i just don't want to be in that situation again. How hard is too hard? Do you guys use wrenches when tightening bulkheads?
