Carpet eating a Razor Blade

So I had a blade and was cleaning the coralline and it slipped. It landed on the edge of my 14" carpet nem. Which is now closed trying to eat it. I tried to get it but it closed so quickly that I can't even open it enough to see the blade.

You think it's a goner? I'm kinda hoping it realizes its not food and opens. But I'm afraid it's just gonna irritate it enough to not let it open back up.

I know a snail can crawl on a razor blade without being cut, so hopefully a nem has that same ability. . . Ouch is right. That is the worst feeling; dropping or buming something when you know you were really trying to be careful not to do that.

Wow -surprised to closed THAT quickly, must have been really hungry, hopefully it opens back up

Yea. But it's an open blade like a box cutter. So I'm afraid as it closes its just gone puncture both tips. Then in order to get it out. It's gonna rip it up

As soon as it fell I grabbed the claws as the tanks 30" deep and its in the sand. But I reached once and as soon as the claw touched it, it grabbed the claw.

Then by time I pulled it back, I couldn't see the blade anymore.

I would personally try to take the anemone out of the tank onto a bucket. In the best interest of the anemone. It will immediately release anything it has once it's foot is loosened from wherever it is grasped onto.

I doubt I could get it out if I wanted too. It's foot extends under a ledge down to the glass bottom.

It should be ok. You only get cut if the blade moves horizontally fast. Anemones move and eat slow. It will realize its not food and spit it out. They sometimes spit out food if it doesnt taste right.

Id be worried about puncturing a hole by moving it or making it shrink.
I would wait and home. Only thing id be worried about would be the side holes of the blade catching on 'intestines'. But they can spit out intestines enough for you to grab the blade.

I would just wait, it will spit it out. Maybe turn the lights off to make it think its night so it poops/shrinks on its own.
