I will not be upgrading to a 40breeder. I will be one upping my husband, and upgrading to a 75gallon. :)

He's pretty happy for me. And we've already agreed that when he upgrades - he gets a 6' tank. I will have this 75 for a LONG time.

Just as he's complaining how there's no room for anything bigger than a 3 foot tank... And I agree, if you are doing a 4 footer, go bigger, you will be happier with a 90 or 120dd. The 120dd is the absolute best 4' reef tank you can get, and will seriously be the about the same amount of maintenance as a 75 overall.

You guys are bad. Lol. I only wanted a 40b.. and this 75gallon setup kind of fell into my lap with an awesome price tag. Lol.

As for space, I'm going to have to rearrange my upstairs a bit. Lol. Moving the reptile shelf.

Seriousness for a minute, you already have most the equipment for the 40b, and it does make a really great reef tank. If its between the 2, I'd do the 40 over the 75. With the right aquascape the 40 would look bigger than it really is. And besides, most of the fish you can keep in a 75 would do just as well in a 40.

I can't keep a tang in a 40b.

Why can't anyone just be thrilled for me? I don't understand why people need to try and talk me out of my decision.

Sorry!! Was not aware that the 75gal was already purchased... I have a 75gal with a DSB and love it :D Congrats!!!!

Can't wait to see the build ;)

Well, its technically not purchased yet. Lol. I was more speaking about George.. I just don't get it.

I thought 75's were pretty common? It's not like I want some weirdo tank..

I also did not realize the 75 was already purchased. I wasn't trying to talk you out of it, just providing suggestions to the conversation. With that said, can I buy the 40b off ya?

A deposit will be put down on the 75 today with pick up scheduled for next weekend. The setup does include some livestock so idk exactly what or how to manage that. No sand or live rock is included but some fish are we have some live rock would the fish be ok with some dry rock and the live rock we have??

What kind of livestock? I've got a brute full of liverock and sand they could stay in temporarily if it's not out of the way for you to swing by. I'll drop the Bakpak in to skim and aerate. Brute has been fallow since I set it up and dumped all the rock and sand in months ago from my old frag tank setup.

I'm happy for you!
I think its amazing how things work out. Like you, I was looking for a tank (a 150) when a super deal on a 250 fell in my lap.
Enjoy
