Cheap fuge light?

I know they're only 1 watt, but this seems pretty decent for a fuge light. It's 24" long, but at an angle over a 15x18 fuge area that seems like a decent spread?

Or this one seems pretty good too. Not as long, so not as much spillage it would seem.

Thoughts?

My other option is just grab a PAR38 bulb as well, but I want something that will take up a little less space which is why I'm looking at these.

A 15w led daylight par38 from home depot would be your best bet. Side by side with an equivalent cfl bulb there's no comparison. That little clip on light might barely keep the macro alive if at all. The specs make it look more like a repurposed book light that a useable fuge light.

Plus with the 3 year warranty on the bulb from HD, it's one less hassle to worry about later if something goes wrong with it. 36 months is a long time in this hobby for many.

If you want a clean look, jimmy sells those really sleek gooseneck lamps for the par bulbs, and the bulb itself comes in a really nice glossy white finish, it does look good, just not very low profile. With the gooseneck it's easy to move the bulb out of the way for maintenance too.

Your talking about a bulb smaller than a solo cup over an area 15x18...

Regardless, if you want a strip of Led, you will be best to put one together with some Cree warm white 3w diodes, no optics, 6 diodes should be more than enough paired with a basic non-Dimmable driver dialed in to like 85% of their max ma rating.
