Chemical to Refugium

Anyone ever had the crazy idea to add chemical/mechanical filtration to their sump?

Right now I have a protein skimmer and a UV sterilizer. In the refugium I have chaeto and other macro algae with a few pieces of live rock. Then I got this crazy idea to do it all and add some sort of filter with some chemi-pure elite or something......maybe add it to a reactor or something?

I do not have problems with nitrates or phosphates but would it help or not?..


Anyone have any opinions?

If everything is fine I wouldn't change anything. For a simple mechanical filtration upgrade, you could go with a filter sock.

I keep about 10 bags of Purigen in my sump.
