Hi need help on setting up a chiller. I picked up a SeaLine 1/2hp chiller and I really have no idea on what kind or size pumps are needed to run it, or how to hook it up. Any help would be great thanks everyone!

http://www.marineandreef.com/Sea_Line_SL_500A_1_2HP_Aquarium_Chiller_Sea_Line_p/rpc05055.htm this might help a little it tells you how many gph you need to have you just need to figure out the head pressure I think its 1 foot of head pressure for every 90 degree fitting plus however many feet up you have to go and the 6ft head pressure from the chiller itself

  • The required flow through the chiller is between 400gph and 800gph. When sizing a pump keep in mind that aquarium chillers will add approx. six feet of head pressure.
  • 3/4" Hose connections

now as for pumps I dont know what kind would be best for your application someone else might want to chime in on that
