clown fish breathing fast and heavy!!

What would cause this? why would they be breathing heavy and fast!!

hmmmm
i had two clowns die last night and i took my two clowns from their tank and put them in the new one and then they started breathing heavy and fast!

Did you check your parameters?

yeah all normal

switched them back to their tank and they are fine again!
I have no clue!!

Did you check ammonia?

Ammonia did it to my 2 clowns. Seachem alert badge read zero, but API test showed high levels.

wouldnt the high ammonia kill the nem as well though?

It would either be ammonia in the tank or low oxygen levels.

+1 on low oxygen a dieing or stressed fish will suck up a lot and not leave any for anyone else.

yeah i had a powerhead just like my other tank so i know the water is moving across the surface of the water to create oxygen! just like my other tank!
