CO2 refil

The only place I know of is Illinois Fire and Safety at 702 South Rohlwing Road, Addison, Illinois 60101

It's a little white house looking building on the west side of the street. Took me a little while to find it. They have weird hours, I believe they're only open during the week from 9-5 or something. Been a while since I've filled a co2 tank, but that was the only place I could find. Airgas wants you to buy theirs, and then just exchange bottles vs refilling them.

Sporting goods store? Dont they use co2 for paint ball?

They do, but their equipment is designed to fill paint ball co2 canisters and requires an adaptor to fill co2 cylinders. Most of the employees will either be too inept to use the adaptor you bring in, or just won't want to. They for sure don't have the adaptor there. I stopped by a few sporting goods stores when I first got a regulator and tank.

Now a strictly paint ball type of shop may, if you have the adaptor, but I would call before buying it and showing up. They may do it.

I personally just found it easier to go to a shop that does it for sure, without me having to buy an adaptor and having to deal with an uninterested teenager at Sports Authority or other similar sporting goods stores.

I get mine filled/exchanged at my local welding supply shop. They carry co2, argon, o2, etc. Not the best priced but they are close to home.

You don't wanna buy Co2 in any paint ball shop they mix that with oil. I'm pretty sure there is Airgas near you. I use them whenever I need one. 20 lb. bottle last me a yr. for my reactor

Any welding supply store will have it. Or can order it...

I hate to say it but they will charge you a hazard wast tax/fee...

Its only time before they hit health clubs with this carbon tax...All those people working off their Big Macs are exhaling a measurable amount of CO2 that should be regulated...Excuse the pun ;)

Seriously

google welding supply. Here is where I get my tanks swapped...https://weldingsupply.com/cgi-bin/einstein.pl

Also those engaged in the home brewing share a similar need for CO2 the English Nitrogen mix is special order...

They may be able to help with a closer source...

Cheers

Bill
