Constant problem w my angel

It may be the only fish in the tank weak enough to suffer while the ich cycles each month. Eventually it may wear it down and kill it.

:0 no good was my most expensive fish $150 def don't want that maybe go buy a 20 gal tomorrow n dose him w something. Any other ideas to not have this happen anymore?

Even if you do QT him, your DT will still be infected. It needs to go fallow for 6-8 weeks. You're in quite a bind now. Good luck.

If it helps, I have a spare 20 gallon tank you can have, nothing special, but free. Think I have an old heater layin too that you can have. Lmk.

I have a 55 I was going to make a reef tAnk but if I can't cure this problem why start up another disaster!!! Just past 3 months this has happened w that fish. I don't know what to do now....... Might just treat entire tank w prazipro or however it is spelled. N go from there. The possibilities!! So frustrating.

Thanks for the offer I appreciate it

I'm treating a crypto (marine ich) infected tank now. I may have some leftover Crypto Pro (Quinine based medication), but won't know until I'm done with treatment in about a week or so.

There are a couple of ways to treat ich, but to cure the display tank, if you have invertebrates or corals, than the only way to rid the tank of cycle is go fallow for 8 - 10 weeks in order to break the parasites life cycle.

As for a hospital tank, there are a variety of treatments, mostly copper based, or quinine based for the resistant strains of cypto. There are some great articles out there, I wish I still had those links to share with you - but do some research before deciding how you want to treat them.

Good luck!!

I am dosing w prazipro right now the entire tank it spread to another one of my fish. No invert or corals just fowlr. We will see how it goes.

Prazi does not treat crypt (ich). It is a de-wormer. There are 2 proven ways to treat crypt. Hyposalinity or Copper. I didn't find any reviews of Crypto-Pro so I can't comment on it.

Since this is a fowler, you could run either hypo or copper in the tank and not worry about a QT tank to treat. If you plan on adding corals or inverts in the near future, you may want to do the hypo treatment since it can take a while for the copper to be removed from the tank.

I showed a pic of my fish to some donkey at aa in Bolingbrook n he said that this would fix it. Well see how it goes I guess. If no work ill do another massive water change n try copper. Just did 40 gallons a few days ago before treatment. It's a 125 tank. Going to a 300 soon my tank is very old n has tons of scratches.

The donkey was wrong. I assure you that prazi will not work on crypt. You didn't need to do a large water change. You can dose prazi and copper at the same time. Up to 30% of wild-caught sw fish have some type of worms so you might as well let the prazi do it's thing since you already paid for it.

Been 3 days w the copper and it has now ripped open its side pretty good. N it does not look any better. Does it take longer then this for it to go away?
