Whats up guys, I had a question on what is the ideal copper lvl for my QT. I just QTed a whole crew and followed the instructions (sentry mardel coppersafe) and maintaned a lvl at about 1.0-1.5 and doing again with some new guys. Just want to get your guys opinion on what lvls you guys are keeping it at or if any one has used coppersafe. Ive done some reading but if any one has any literature they would suggest it would be much appreciated.

Ill look at my bottle when I get home since I use the same , but on a side note is that kole tang even real !?!?! LLol

MAN he is a little buff stud, perfect find thanks again!

Simple enough ill stick to the original plan. Before i slowly introduced them to the full dose over about a weeks time and weaned them off after the full months treatment, is this necessary because the sooner this guy is done with this the sooner i will be forever cheesing :a01:View attachment 17073

Around 1.0 for coppersafe works for me.
Levels depend on type of copper used.
Make sure you keep your QT topped off everyday to keep copper level consistent. If you have sand or rocks, copper gets absorbed and you may have to redose, so check your levels often.

I was just reading in coral magazine that with tangs copper isn't the best choice for treatment

"Tangs not very tolerant of copper based meds for treatment. I strongly suggest the use of chloroquine phosphate sold as fish quine forte for the external protozoan parasite treatments"

You guys hear of any horror storys from using copper with tangs?

I've been reading up on it myself, consensus seems to be keeping it between 0.2-0.3. I don't have any experience myself, so I'll leave it to the pros on this one.

I should prolly know what im treating for (ich is what made me want to QT everything) but hypo only treats for ich, would it be more of a benefit treating with copper to prevent everything or would it be better for the fishs sake if I went with the hypo method?

So far so good, little dude is still looking adorable :becky: Just got a reefkeeper lite for him so no more messing around with heaters ><!
(thanks cubbies)
